West Valley Speech Therapy provides 1-on-1 parent coaching services as well as small group classes that focus on teaching strategies and techniques to improve your child's developmental journey. Our goal is to help parents, families, and caregivers support their child's communication skills in everyday life activities.

Parent Coaching
Parental involvement is key to each child's growth! Once we know how your child interacts with their environment, what their play development looks like, and how they are using communication in their daily routines, we can teach you strategies to help their language skills grow. Our parent coaching sessions can take place 1-on-1 or in a small group format, including a combination of direct therapy and strategy instruction. We offer 6-week and 12-week programs to help you feel knowledgeable and empowered about your child's communication development journey!
Parent coaching sessions are guided by our training from the It Takes Two To Talk® parent program and the Learn with Less® early child language development program.
The Hanen Program
It Takes Two to Talk®
We support children with language delays by empowering their parents and caregivers! Our speech therapists are trained in the It Takes Two to Talk® program from The Hanen Centre which guides parents to enhance their child's language development in natural, everyday activities. We teach simple strategies that can be incorporated into routines such as meal times, play activities, and book reading.
